Reduce, reuse, recycle

Explore Australia is dedicated to showcasing the natural beauty of Victoria with a local flavour and a sense of fun. So it’s imperative that we operate in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. We embrace responsible tourism through the following initiatives;

  • Smaller groups have less of an environmental impact when they travel, our group size is a maximum of 21.
  • E-voucher/tickets are preferred form of check-in on tour
  • Our office uses a software print management system to help reduce wasteful printing
  • Our brochures are printed on recycled paper with vegetable based ink
  • All cartridges are recycled through the Planet Ark’s cartridge recycling program
  • Office light bulbs have been switched to LED
  • Power off policy when leaving the office. All staff are educated to turn off lights and power to computers prior to leaving the office
  • Cloud based system - google drive is used to share company collateral rather than printing

Lightening our Eco Footprint

In relation to our tours, we keep our tour groups small which reduces the strain on resources and allows for more sustainable economic benefits to filter through to local economies such as French Island.

All our guides are instructed to ensure minimal environmental impact, and to provide accurate interpretation, and keeping wildlife disturbance to a minimum by viewing from appropriate distances and informing our guests how to view wildlife with patience and respect.

Activities are always confined to tracks and boardwalks to minimise negative impacts. In addition to our own initiatives we also ensure we align ourselves with other eco certified operators such as Phillip Island Nature Park.

Explore Australia acknowledges the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of The Kulin Nation as the original custodians of the land our tours operate on.

We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
