Yes — this tour combines two of Victoria’s most popular experiences in one full day. You will enjoy over three hours of snow play at Lake Mountain, followed by a scenic 1-hour Puffing Billy steam train ride through the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.
2. Is the Puffing Billy steam train ride included?
Yes, your ticket includes a reserved seat on Puffing Billy. This iconic journey takes you through lush forests, fern gullies and over historic trestle bridges — with the unique experience of sitting on the open-sided carriage and dangling your legs.
3. How long do we spend at Lake Mountain?
You will have approximately 3 hours at Lake Mountain, giving you plenty of time to enjoy snow play, explore the area, and take photos in Victoria’s alpine environment.
4. What snow activities can I do at Lake Mountain?
Lake Mountain is Victoria’s premier snow play destination, perfect for first-time visitors. You can build snowmen, enjoy tobogganing (own expense), and explore the alpine landscape at your own pace.
5. Do I need to pre-book toboggan tickets?
Toboggan tickets are purchased on the mountain and are required to access the designated toboggan runs. These tickets include the use of a compliant toboggan provided by the resort, and external toboggans are not permitted.
6. Is snow gear included?
Snow clothing and boots are not included in the tour price. However, they are available to hire on the mountain, or you are welcome to bring your own suitable winter clothing. <
7. Is food included on the tour?
Food is not included. There will be a stop in Healesville where you can purchase breakfast or coffee, and food and drinks are also available for purchase at Lake Mountain.
8. Can I pay with cash on the tour?
You can use cash at our stop in Healesville for coffee or food. However, both Lake Mountain and Puffing Billy operate as cashless venues, so all purchases at these locations must be made using card or digital payment methods. We recommend bringing a card or mobile payment option for the day.
9. Is drinking water available at Lake Mountain?
There is no potable (drinking) water available on the mountain. Bottled water and drinks can be purchased from the resort’s food outlets.
10. What happens if there is limited snow?
Snow conditions can vary depending on weather conditions throughout the season. Lake Mountain uses snow-making where possible, but in rare cases, the itinerary may be adjusted to ensure you still enjoy a great day out.
